Excellent Product
There were a lot of "mask" changes in this version of QuickBooks Premier from the previous version I owned (which was 2012, also owned 2009 prior to that)Some of the changes were a little challenging at the beginning, but as I have worked with the product on a daily basis, it has become effortless to use the new version. Everything in the company file converted to the new version with no problem - this had been a big concern.Although I'm not a big fan of being forced to upgrade, I do understand the reasons behind the need to keep up with the newest technologies and the problems that can occur if you don't.

UPDATED - I can appreciate the effort Intuit goes through to improve their QB products
I happy to report that the Time Sheets are now sortable by each column! I still did not appreciate the last year in which they broke the functionality until they "fixed it" with sortable columns, but I once again have a positive attitude towards Quickbooks. Here's hoping they don't break it or something else again -lol. (Fingers crossed)Previous Review >Now, I can appreciate the effort Intuit goes through to improve their QB products and 2015 looks like a nice set of refinements and features. But there's one thing that has stopped me in my tracks from upgrading. Time Sheets lost the ability to sort by Customer:Job after the R3 update to QB 2014.The worst decision an Intuit Quickbooks product manager has ever made was the change made in QB 2014 R3. When viewing a previously saved weekly timesheet, the time entries will remain in the "order in which they were originally entered" rather than sorted A-Z by Customer:Job.Why in the world would they make a change like this with out leaving a way to have time sheets function the way they have for 10+ years? This alone may be the reason that I NEVER buy another QB release. And by the way, they tried this for a brief moment with QB2013 R7 and quickly reverted after bad feedback. Really seems like a simple fix - just make the columns sortable by just clicking the column heading like in databases.

I feel like a prisoner in my own business. PLEASE somebody make an alternative my accountant can use. I've got the QB Blues.
Quickbooks Sucks. I *had* to upgrade from 2012, because they wouldn't let me download bank information if I didn't. I at least expected the software to be less buggy or faster or add some features. Welp my expectations turned out to be waaaayyyy tooooo higghhhhh. Next time I'll know better and expect the software to be no less than 20% more difficult to use than the previous version. I don't think they can find a way to disappoint then -- although they'll probably find a way. Other than making frequently used features hard to use and activate, there's nothing special about this upgrade. They were kind enough to hide things like bank feeds and balances in new places (that I don't believe you can move), and provided us with all kinds of new error messages popping up about where my files are stored on the drive and which sequence of events I did wrong this time. It seems to be the same bug-filled software as always with a different shell so that they can claim, "look at all the updates we've made" to justify their price.I certainly commend them for finding a way to make a consistently crappy product worse. I commend them even more for finding a way to force consumers to buy their product despite the fact that it is no better than it was 3 years ago, and finally: congratulations for keeping all decent competition out of the marketplace so that we're all stuck with this sloppy mess of accounting software because there is no alternative. I feel like a pre-Gorbachev Russian begging for a morsel of something better than stale bread. NYET!And that's not all . . . their payroll sucks too. Be very careful giving this company your credit card information because a $225 dollar purchase, may become an over $400 renewal. They thought they *got* me, but my credit card company honored my dispute and refunded my money to which Intuit replied via e-mail, "We consider this a balance due" or something close. The only reason I had to dispute the charge was that their customer disservice department refused to process the cancellation; instead requiring me to start over and call a different department. I said no thanks and handled the way I hope everyone handles it when they over charge. If we all play duck duck goose trying to find a customer service rep empowered to cancel service we never ordered, then finally give up and write off the $$, they will continue to operate exactly as they currently do.

QuickBooks, can't run you busness without it
Great product, I have been using Intuit products for 20 years. be advised that this version will expire in 2 and 1/2 years. It is just Intuits way of keeping thee hand in your wallet.

Mixed feelings
We got this program to make it easier for our accountant to do our taxes. We have a small business, several bank accounts, credit cards, mortgages, car payments etc., and it is a LOT to keep track of. Unfortunately, uploading our bank statements into the program is not an option because if, like us, you live in a rural area and bank with a local bank that isn't as technologically up to speed as, say, Bank of America, you'll end up with duplicates of a lot of transactions, and they'll be spaced out randomly....yeah...have fun with that. This program is not user friendly for the average joe. I've had to google my way through a lot of the steps to make everything reported to where it should, transferred to where it should etc.I spend two days a month, right after getting all our statements, to input everything and by the end of it, I feel like an angry zombie. I'm certain that if I had the time to learn how to properly utilize this program to its potential, it would get a higher rating. But, I think I'm there with a lot of people who don't find this kind of stuff to be intuitive. The thing I DO like about it is that it gave me a more clear picture of exactly how much we were spending in various categories, such as meals and entertainment, gas, etc. It's easy to lose track of your budget when you don't see it right there every day. When the numbers are all in, and you view your reports, it makes it easier to be more mindful of your spending habits, and cut back when and where you need to. The profit and loss reports are also neat.
