It’s pretty much the deep wine/plum colour pictured. Not a red in the traditional sense.

Q: Is it big enough to hold an arch-ring folder?

You can get a file in the bag and it will zip up but you wouldn’t get much else in the bag probably your mobile and a purse not much more. I would go for the next size bag.
