This device allow you to capture footage from your Xbox 360 or PS3 to your PC for uploading to YouTube or streaming to sites like Twitch.Does this device do all the things it claims to above? Yes, but only just. It captures at 480p. Most gaming videos are at least 1080p and YouTube are sure to be the pioneers of 4K quality once 4K hardware becomes more prevalent.While the quality offered by this device is reasonable for a total newcomer to game capture, it should be viewed as a device aimed at someone who wants to learn how game capture works without spending big.Similarly, the software that comes with this package is good, but it's not the greatest. Again it's ideal fro a newcomer to pick up the basics of video production. Bare in mind there are better freeware software out there, albeit more advanced, such as Lightworks.The only reason you should be buying this is if you really can't stretch to the cost of a 1080p capture device as the final footage produced by this device is sure to disappoint.

A great starter or step up from a cheap vid cap item, easy to use for good quality vids.These days with people checking out youtube vids on smartphones, tablets, etc who really needs to record in full HD with a PVR??Plus, add to that the time it takes to render and upload full HD vids, makes the roxio a great choice.Records in 480 while still playable on TV in 720p or 1080i and I've found that rendering on the DivX Home Theater 848 x 480 setting is more than good enough for the standard and expanded size of window on youtube.People need to fully check the system specs of what laptop / PC they are planning to run it on first tho, to many urp a durps thinking that they are gonna be able to record with only the basic requirements met

i think this is a true contender versus the Haupegge while the Haupagge is more expensive and actually requires more products that detailed making it unreliable and inaccurate, this records in HD not complete but close enough thats good enough for me for less the price less the hassle and a better product sorry but its true. Warning alert! this products requires a cable that is not supplied, also a decent computer specification. although this product is so easy to use it is annoying while recording because as your recording the recorder has the sound from the game not just only coming from the TV but the recording too!

Great quality product offering good value. Take a bit of time to configure to get it setup correctly but it does work out of the box. Main configuration issue was getting the codec files and video sampling to work smoothly. But its working well now. My son who is 15 found it easy to use and his only negative is that upload to UTube takes ages. Not sure if this is a product issue, my upload bandwidth 512K or UTube itself. My feeling is that its a bandwidth issue on the DSL which is asynchronous with poor upload speed.

This piece of hardware doesn't come with all the leads required and we spent around £25 on additional leads (PS3 to R/G/B/W/R, PS3 to HDMI etc.) and many hours in an attempt to get it working. We tried it direct to two different televisions and eventually came to the conclusion that it must not be compatible with our early PS3. We has to settle for a solution using the yellow from the component lead only for the video signal, which is ok on the television, but only gives black and white on the computer.

Lets start by saying it's not as bad as I expected it to be. I ordered this as a temporary recorder until I get a HD PVR gaming edition 2. The quality isn't bad but on the other hand it isn't great, I am happy to use this for temporary use because it is much better than the Easycap and the Dazzle DVC 100 which I happen to own both of those. The software it comes with is easy to install and easy to use so overall this is actually a petty decent product. If your really into recording videos then I'd recommend you spend a little extra and get the HD PVR 2 or the Elgato or if you just want to get it temporary like me then I do recommend it.

thought i would way some time before viewing it to get the chance to put it through its paces and was surprised on how well it works.Great little product easy to use, simple to install and the picture quality isn't bad ether.Doesn't come with the cables that connect the console to the device which sucks but can pick them up pretty cheep if you play on HDMI.All in all great capture device and would recommend to a friend (which i have) and anyone looking to start making videos that doesn't want to spend lots of money.

Purchased this item in November for my son s eleventh birthday, a new hd cable, a new tv with correct audio and video connection s and a new dvd writer for my son s new notebook. When we finally loaded the dvd installation disc and pressed to go we received the corrupt certificate message and now at the end of December have still not been able to use this item. On further investigation it seems many people get this message and then gave to. Go through many processes to remedy (beyond my limited computer skills) a complete waste of money and then further money trying to resolve problems. A massive disappointment to my eleven year old son who had still over one month on not been able to upload a minecraft video
