I’ve been using this sea moss gel for a few days and really like it so far. The texture is smooth and easy to mix into things like smoothies or tea and the elderberry flavor is subtle but pleasant. I like knowing it’s packed with nutrients and made with clean ingredients. It also feels good to support a small business that makes their product in the USA. It arrived well sealed and fresh. I haven’t used it long enough to notice big changes yet but I do feel like it gives a nice boost and I’ll definitely keep it in my routine.

So apparently I'm not a big fan of elderberry. If I mix it in my smoothie, and load my smoothie with strawberries, blueberries, & peaches, the elderberry flavor seems to "hide." I know they say you can put this on crackers or bread, or eat it straight from the jar, but that's something that I just can't do. The flavor isn't awful, the texture isn't bad, but there is a slight aftertaste. Mixing it in my smoothie seems to hide all of that.

I got this because I wanted to try sea moss gel for its health benefits and the added energy boost this specific product offers. I grew up eating, or a least exposed to, all sorts of uncommon seafood and edible seaweed, so I was very interested in trying this. This is an initial review mainly of the flavor and consistency of the product, and will not reflect the effects of its potential energy benefits. As noted on the jar label, it will take at least two months of consistent use to see the full energy-boosting benefits from this product. This cumulative effect was not mentioned anywhere in the item description. I wrongly interpreted the large printed "ENERGY BOOST" on the front label as it being able to provide a quick energy boost when needed.The scent of mango and pineapple is amazing upon opening the jar. The gel is a nice golden yellow in color, very thick like jam and slightly grainy in texture. I can taste the mango and pineapple flavors, mixed in with the earthy, ocean-like flavor typical of seaweed. Mango is my favorite fruit so I like that the mango flavor still comes through. I love that it is not too sweet. I have been taking a plain spoonful of this everyday. Although I like the flavor of this sea moss gel, I feel it requires an acquired taste to enjoy it. Others might find the flavor profile challenging, especially those who don't particularly like briny, ocean-y tastes, although the mango and pineapple do a great job masking the seaweed flavor. One last note, I appreciate that this sea moss gel is organic and made in USA. For the price, this is a good value for its nutritional content and long-term potential health benefits.

Personally, I love this sea moss gel. But when I say I love it, I mean I love it as much as you can a product made from sea moss. In other words, it has a bit of a slimy texture because it's sea moss that has been whipped into a gel. There's no way to eliminate that texture BUT this sea moss gel does a better job than any others I've tried. The same goes for the taste. The mango pineapple flavor is delicious and does an excellent job of covering up the natural taste of sea moss, which if you've never tried it, smells and tastes like a fish aquarium in my opinion. This sea moss gel is so good, I just eat my daily serving right out of the jar. And I love all the nutrients I'm getting. I really wish the jar was bigger! That being said, this is a great “starter” size if you've never tried sea moss gel before and want to see if you like it. Combine that with the great flavor and smooth, pudding-like texture and this is an excellent sea moss gel!
