Bear X Desire XL Self-Cocking Pistol Crossbow with 3 Premium Bolts

This crossbow is fun to shoot! I was able to adjust the sights and consistently hit the target at a short distance. It seems to be well made and solid.

I just upgrade to the Bear X Desire XL From my old Cobra System pistol crossbow. This pistol crossbow is so much more enjoyable to shoot, especially since I using the old 80lbs. limb (vise the 60 lbs. that came with the crossbow). Installed my red dot and I was sighted in, in less than 20 shots. For around $60.00 you can't go wrong, would highly recommend.

This is no joke, I've shot the rifle style of bows, this one keeps up with the best. Adjustable front and rear stock make for a good fit ,the sights are a little hard to see, but very accurate.I wish it came with 3 more arrows and a extra string . All in all a good deal

I read all reviews and took note of the issues, so I added super glue to both bow ends and lightly hammer tapped the ends on. I also turned the crossbow upside down and put super glue on and around the single safety clip screw. I’m hoping all that helps prevent the same issues. I did read it’s ok to use 7.5” bolts witch I did buy see pics length and girth are bigger but fit perfectly. I also got the wax and have waxed the rails and sting. Says to do it every 20 shots. The wax is like chapstick easy to apply to the string I used a quetip for the rails. I have fired the bow 10 times so far to get the scope I added aligned. Shots good and is fun. For me this is potential silent self defense. It is recommended to replace the string every year with normal use and I did have a hard time stringing the bow and may have fraid a tiny bit I’ll have to replace the string eventually there around $10+ keep your stringing string that comes with the bow there about the same price.I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the issues I planned for should not exist and instructions should have been more clear. Item was also shipped in its own box sitting out for all to see and was not a strong or protected box at all. Good quality items should be treated as such.

This crossbow is no joke and so fun. Assembly is pretty straight forward. It took me probably 5 minutes. Then sighting the crossbow in took me about 10 minutes to get it shooting how I wanted it. It shoots pretty accurately. I posted a picture of my group. I also have taken it out now and hunted rock chucks. I won’t post a picture but I will say it is very deadly and very capable of killing varmints.Also as a side note, I have purchased a cheap red dot sight and it mounted nicely to the bow and makes it even more accurate.Overall this is a great crossbow and so much fun to shoot.

I thought it was going to be fun and unlike some, I was not troubled by the assembly process or the truly rather poor pictures accompanying the instructions. I thought I was getting something nice and fun.Like many customers in the lower ranges of the reviews here, I got off two shots before the third broke one of the tips on the bow. Very disappointing. I then looked up crossbows and crossbow pistols on the sporting good sites and found that to get a real one you would need to put out about $1000 or 20 times more what this thing cost. But never fear, the coming tariffs will make this one cost three times as much, and it will still be junk.

This will take out small game if you get close enough.

I went through four of these before I resorted to a full return rather than replacment. The first one was excellent except for the bowstring retainer end caps. One of them cracked and I wanted to give it another shot because it shot and sighted in very well. The accuracy and power was great. The replacements all had faulty sights. The front sight post was canted on all of the replacments, and the rear windage functioned wobbled the rear sight blade up and down, and remained loose and canted. Each shot caused the rear sight blade to move from zero. The first one had a perfect front sight post and a tight, straight moving rear sight. I will not buy another because of the lack of QC. It made me wish I kept the first one and just bought replacement bowstring retainer caps or got them replaced by warranty through Bear-X. It is not worth my time anymore and I lost faith in the product's consistency.
