The media could not be loaded. I’ve only had this running about 7 hours after receiving it and I have to say I’m rather impressed. Usually my brand new out of the box lava lamps ( yes, lol I do have a lava lamp collection) take a couple to a few days of cycling 8-12,hours per night on average before you really can see their true personality and how they are going to perform. However, this one straight out of the box after only running a mere 7 hours is very impressive. The colors are great, there’s some blues, purples, and even a hint of a deep dark violet or fuschia color. After reading some reviews, I have to admit I was a little hesitant to purchase this lamp but I’m very happy I did. If anything changes I will definitely update my review but so far it’s working great. I would definitely recommend this to a friend or family member.

I wrote up a very long detailed review which addressed pretty much every common issue that other reviews had, but Amazon rejected it. So here's the short version.I've got about 60 hours on this lamp and so far it works great. My glass is not damaged, the lamp doesn't appear to be used, the wax rises and falls properly, it hasn't exploded, etc. It just works perfectly and the color is gorgeous.The only problem I had is that the bulb that it shipped with only lasted 3 hours. Some people have recommended replacing it with a 35 or 40 watt bulb, but I would not recommend that. I replaced it with another 25 watt bulb and the wax cycles perfectly. I think a hotter bulb would just make the wax overheat and clump up at the top of the bottle. Either way, make sure you have some spare bulbs when you order this.

The instructions basically say to be patient while waiting for lamp to work properly. So I was. I plugged the lamp in every day for a week and it didn’t work. I asked for a replacement and was sent one. After plugging the new lamp in for 3 hours, it was working great! Super cute.

The bulb burnt out after the first five days! So I’m buying more bulbs. I hope that is the only problem, but won’t know until I try them. My grandson loves the colors (it was a gift to him), but says it takes a couple of hours to get the lava to work. So right now, waiting to see if the bulb is the only problem. 🙁

The media could not be loaded. I LOVE this lava lamp!! I bought two for gifts and decided to get one for myself. The outside is very pretty with a teal and purple color combination. The "lava" does take some time to get hot enough and move around actively, but it is worth the wait! It's a great gift idea, everyone seems to love it! Highly recommend!

Great product. Works exactly as intended. I will say the glass was dirty when it arrived which caused the water to look cloudy. But after cleaning the glass off that cloudy appearance vanished. The wax color is a great contrast to the teal/blue water. It almost makes the purple wax look like it’s glowing.

The product works perfectly with no visible damage and the wax is flowing properly, but it is so so cloudy directly out of the box that there are times I struggle to see the wax at all. Initially I wondered if this was previously opened and being sold as new because the box was slightly bent and had no seal sticker (shipping box was fine only the product box was like that so I don't think the delivery driver was rough with it).I'll try both letting it settle for over 8 hours tonight and running it for 6-8 hours a day for a week (both suggestions I've seen online to resolve clouding that occurred due to shipping). I'll update my review if that resolves the issue but if it doesn't I'll have to return the product because it is too expensive to be this cloudy.Update: after running it for 8-10 hours a day for 5 days and leaving it sit over night each time there was no improvement so I ordered a replacement. I don't expect a crystal clear lamp straight from shipment but the new lamp is already significantly clearer than the previous one. The liquid has the clarity of maybe a melon soda now rather than a clearly milky tinge. The weather was actually warmer for this delivery than the previous one, so I'm still not sure what was happening with that one.For the ability to return and replace, and an item that functions as designed I'll bring it up to 4 stars, but it still feels a little expensive for what it is to me. I recognize you're paying for the exclusive wrap but the graphic used for the aurora foil appears stretched (as though they used a low resolution or wrong sized image and stretched it to size instead of creating a graphic in the right size to begin with). You can get lamps that are just as beautiful from target for $25.
